Aftermarket decks and sirius radio question

Couldn't find anything on the but I'm purchasing and older single din dvd player that is sirius compatible. Now never having had sirius before where I'm confused is if I have to buy a specific sirius satellite radio attachment for the clarion model xxxx or if I can buy any sirius satellite radio attachment and it'll hook up and work etc. Sorry if I wasn't clear enough and appreciate the help !

Re: Aftermarket decks and sirius radio question

If a radio says xxxx compatible, I'd hope that means you would have to buy it (XM) as an add on and the radio head unit can control it after you hook it up.

Google the radio maker and model for an instruction manual?

Re: Aftermarket decks and sirius radio question

As far as I understand if the radio is satellite "ready" all you need is a receiver that plugs into the back of the radio. As long as the radio is "Satellite Ready" it has the necessary connection in the back. I would still double check in the owners manual though.

Similiar to this:

Awesome thank you, I was most uncertain about if the tuners were specific to models or not. Appreciate the help
