Clearing tranny codes

Hi all. I've got a 2004 civic LX that just blew a tranny, and I just dropped in a low mileage used one from the wrecker. My question is, how can I clear the transmission error codes? This thing sat without battery for two days so obviously it doesn't clear by pulling a fuse. The nearest dealer is 2.5 hours drive away and that's a long way in limp mode.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Yet it does clear fault memory by disconnecting the battery.
You must have brand new codes to figure out.

Or a trans replacement didn't fix any of the codes you had?

Re: Clearing tranny codes

Are you sure about that? I read somewhere about a guy having to get error codes cleared by a dealer after a tranny swap.

Re: Clearing tranny codes

Unplug a completely different sensor to cause a new code. TPS is a good one.
Key on until code stores. Then disconnect battery and reconnect that sensor.....and see new code is gone, leaving all current codes.

You have your own code reader, of course? What codes does it have?
