Hello,

I just joined this forum after being a lurker on and off for years. I purchased a 2004 Honda Civic Si new off the lot in the beginning of 2005. I was previously a mechanic before a job change several years back so I do most of my own repairs unless I do not have the time.

I am currently just shy of 360,000 miles on this one in the 10 years that I have owned this vehicle and have been very happy with it.

Recently the timing chain wore out so I had to find the time to replace it so it sat in the driveway for a few months but it is back on the road again. Yay!

- Original Struts - still work fine
- Original clutch - still works fine
- Original starter
- on its 4th set of tires
- on its 3rd set of brakes
- both O2 sensors failed around 200k
- alternator went bad at 280k
- about ready to replace the control arm bushings for the 3rd time.

There is a lot of good information on this site and figured that if I joined that I may be able to contribute to some of the questions that are being posted since I have such a history with this model and have done all sorts of misc work on it not listed above.

If I did it correctly, here is a snapshot of my odometer in June 2014.
