Okay I have a 1994 civic dx, b18b1 swap, the car would occasionally just fall on it's face when under power, if I put it in neutral it would rev with ease, but in hear spit and sputter, id turn the key off then start it again and had no issues. no particular time either, it would do it when the engine is cold or warmed up. One day it wouldn't turn over at all so I put a new distributor on it and it took the problems away for a few months, until yesterday when the same problems arose again. And when I went to leave the bar it would just krank over and I could smell fuel but wouldn't start so I left it there over night to trailer it home this morning and when I got there it fired up first try and has ran great all day!!! Suggestions please because I'm lost.

If the new distributor temporarily fixed the problem, then it's a good place to start. Did you use a cheapie or a reliable (i.e. OEM) one?

I didn't go cheap, it was a brand new OEM. That's why I found it so hard to believe it went out so quickly
