CEL On

CEL On

My CEL light came on the other day in my 96 Ex so I had it checked out and it puled the code p0453 Which is EVAP System Pressure Sensor/Switch Circuit High... Need some help on what to replace.

High voltage was detected in the fuel tank pressure sensor circuit.


My first guess would be a wiring problem. Got mice? Rodents chewing wires seems to be a huge problem in my locale.

I would have already had a scanner on it that can read and display live sensor data to see what value that sensor is reading.


FTP: 3 wire sensor: There should be a ground, a 5v, and a signal return.
Atmospheric pressure should give a reading of about 2.5v.

Note there are 3 different harness junctions these circuits pass through, so that makes about 15 different connections to possibly cause trouble LOL.

I'll suggest a wire diagram and voltmeter if you have to trace wiring.
