Turn Signals Not Working Properly

I have a 2002 Honda Civic.

When I try to use my turn signals sometimes I get one or two blinks out of them but more often than not they don't work at all. It is the same for both the right and left. I checked the fuses and they are fine. I was going to replace the turn signal relay but am having a lot of trouble getting it out.

Does it sound like the turn signal relay could or would be the problem?

Any tips on how to get it out?

What else might it be?

Thanks.

Pliers?

I would be testing instead of guessing....But yeah, sounds like the flasher relay.

Thanks. I need to get it out to test it, no?

Also forgot to mention that I have the same problem with my hazards.

The flasher relay has its own control unit built in so you can't really test it like a normal plain relay.

I would have pulled it out to test everything else from that socket.

A wiring diagram leads the way for me.

Hazards and turn signals all use the same parts.

Re: Turn Signals Not Working Properly

Managed to get it out with a screwdriver and pliers. Also had to contortion myself to get at it.

Turns out it was the relay. I gotta to say the people at Auto Zone were not as helpful or knowledgeable as I hoped or expected. It took them forever to match it up. Then when it didn't look exactly the same they seemed dumbfounded. The replacement was longer than the original. I was worried it wouldn't fit. At least they were willing to take it back if it didn't work. Fortunately it did.
