For wiring tweeters, can i just splice into my front door speakers and run a bass blocker in the line? Im thinking about adding some tweeters in the front doors and wanted to find the best way to do it. thanks

yea...you can simply splice into the terminals however make sure you use a cap on them otherwise youll cook em. You dont want full range running through them.

it all depends?
do you have a pair of tweeters on hand you want to use or...
are you considering on buying a set?
if you have them on hand and cannot afford and/or dont want to spend the money on a crossover unit, then a set of capacitors will do the trick inline on the POS+ wire spliced into the speakers.
If you are buying a set...yea, in most cases they come with a crossover included.
i think to install them they say to keep them around 6" away from the speakers for sound quality?

go with the components. Adding tweeters to your stock speakers is like dropping your car with nice springs without changing your struts. Sure you can do it, but its not the best idea. Check around ebay or even on here and get a component set. You will be ALOT happier.

wow thanks for all the advice guys. i currently have Alpine R speakers in the doors and kinda wanted to play with the idea of doing some tweeters. All in all, they sound pretty awesome as is. ill take a look for some with a built in xover. my door speakers are powered by an alpine 50(ish)x4 channel. is there any risk of blowing them getting that much power or is that usually fine for most tweeters?

how do you think those compare to the alpines? i kinda wanna keep the alpines, mainly bc i have the service plan from worst buy with a few years left on it and quite honestly, they sound great. so im thinkin my easiest route will be to run a tweeter off my front speaker line with a xover in line. that sound about right?

I have personally heard both the Alpine and the Infinity, and me personally, I would stick to the Alpines. The infinitys have a much more "tinny" sound to them with not much mid or low. The alpines have a much more "full" rich sound to them.
Wow that sounded lame, but you get the idea.
