What's up everyone, I have had my components (Infinity 6.5 inch) up front for a while and I have noticed that they seem to be having a lot of ground noise. Its a really "whiny" sound that changes with accelorator depression. The funny thing is, I have a cheap 4 channel Jenson up front and it doesn't seem to have any whiny noises in back, only in the front, and mainly from the tweeters. What is going on as I can't seem to get rid of it at all?

These are all of the steps that I have taken to try and get rid of the noise:

Regrounded Car Battery at 3 places.

Grounded the CD player to same spot as amp (amp is grounded under seat , which is also where amp is located) [and yes, it is ground off very well for a good connection!]

I have RCA cables running to this amp and the other in the middle of the car and power cables on the side of the car, so no interference there.

I have a ground loop eliminator in the RCA's to the front channel of the amp.

My CD player is an Alpine CDA 9851.

So, can the tweeters be causing the noise by themselves? I turned the car off, and sometimes the tweeters still whine when the key is in the accessory position, even with no music (although the CD player is still on). Do you think it is the amp most likely? The amp is my first suspicion because it is sort of cheap, but I'm not really sure because only the front channel is making ground noise. Could it be the CD player? I am inclined toward the amp but I have no way of testing it because the noise goes on and off randomly, but here lately it has gotten really bad.

I also forgot to add that I have Zero Noise 2 Street Wires RCA's for the front channel of the amp.

I was having this same problem when I was running Alpine Type S components in the front doors off of a Alpine FRP-420 4 Channel amp. I would get bad roadnoise through the tweeters and eventually the driver's door tweeter burned out so I had replace. I had my power wire ran down the passenger side and the rca's ran down the opposite. I am thinking that there might be a wire from the factory that run's down the driver's side that may be carrying voltage high enough to cause interferrence. Eventually I took my 4 channel out and have not had any problems since with road noise.
What I would try if I were you is running the rca's down the center console under the carpet and to wherever your amps are located. That may help in placing the rca path further away from any power sources which might be giving you problems. I don't think a ground loop is you problem, nor are the grounds at the headunit. So those ground loop eliminators aren't doing anything for you. Try grounding the amp(s) at a better location if you think it could help.
