fitted new rear caliper

Angry fitted new rear caliper

Once i fitted it and went to put the ignition on and the handbrake down the handbrake light on the dashboard stayed on?
How do i fix it any ideas?

Hmm I dont believe that it has anything to do with what you did. What kind of car is it? Does the wheel actually lock up when the brake is off?

How is your brake fluid level? The brake light serves 2 functions in vehicles. One is to indicate the park brake is engaged. The second is to monitor the brake hydraulic system. It does that one of 2 ways, either by monitoring the pressure with a switch, and/or the level in the master cylinder resevoir. Make sure you are full up on fluid and the brakes are bled.
