Slotted or Drilled Rotors?
Is there any difference performance wise? Is either one better than the other. I'm buying new rotors to put on my car and I was just wondering if there was any difference?

in all honesty, its your pads that make the biggest difference. many autocrossers tend to have autozone rotors on their cars with great pads, ss brake lines, and performance brake fluid so it doesnt cook.

Pads and calipers really, I got the Wilwood 4 piston calipers with 11.5 inch rotors.

get OEM! much quieter, less dusty, better stopping power and has a coating so they dont rust. slot and drill are WORSE than stock. brembo is CRAP, it rusts, loud, makes tons of dust. I HATE my brembo rotors. oem ftw!

calipers make a slight difference but unless you swap out the master brake cylinder, the force applied from the caliper to the rotor will be the same as stock

I need a larger sample size for my brembos. one of them is fine, the other is scored and I didn't want to take it to a brake shop to get it turned. It pulses the pedal a bit sometimes. I have heard many with positive reviews for these rotors.
+2 on no slots or drills. get as much surface area contact as possible.

he's asking for performance differnce and no one told him lol .. basically drilled it to keep things cooler .. big brake kits either come slotted or drilled for a reason .. its not **** lol but they are bigger rotors so performance doesn't suffer unlike oem size drilled

Not really. It is the design of the fins inside the rotors that really keep things cooler. Slots and cross drills just push rotor debris away better, providing less chance for debris buildup on the rotor.

drilled rotors have nothing do to with keeping a rotor cool, and if some company is telling you that it is.... .well then they are deliberately misleading you in order to sell a product.
If anything, removing mass from the rotor would actually increase operating temps.

^which is good, yes? alls i know is that slotted removes spent brake pad material under extreme conditions to prevent the pads from hydroplaning on the rotor.

pads arent as crappy as they were back then. lots of c6 z06 autocrossers then to swap from their drilled brakes to blank rotors for a reason...

Then they are confused about how brakes work... I.e. Friction is not subject to surface area, just pressure and the coefficient of friction between the two objects.
Blanks just give you maximum heat absorbtion (greater mass) and rotor longevity(no heat stress points).

Pads don't gas out like they use to, and slotted rotors are designed to reduce the chance of glazing pads & rotors.
