Any problems swapping 14" for 15"?

99 Civic EX coupe with automatic.
Swapping stock wheels 185 60 R14 (Michelin Pilots) for
2002 Honda Civic SI Rims 15x6 4x100 with 195/60/15 tires.

Will this cause any handling/shifting/engine problems?

Thanks

i am pretty sure its a straight swap. may feel a tad bit slower cause larger wheels take longer to spin up. but you may not even notice. and i dont know how the weight is different. wait for some other wheel guys to post and confirm, cause im not 100% sure.

Re: Any problems swapping 14" for 15"?

I bought some aftermarket 17" wheels for my 2003 civic, and they arent like the best, top-of-the line wheels ever, just look nice. but they have in no way changed anything in a negative manner that i have seen. the car, though, does handle better due to the wider wheel, and nicer tires. I actually just ordered new 17" wheels from buddy club, which are almost half the weight that i have with these wheels currently, which are supposed to enhance quite a bit performance wise, like better acceleration and handling, so i would just pay attention to weight more than anything, and get a good tire. Going up one inch in size shouldnt be too noticable though. Just stick to those fundamentals, you will be good.

Check out this page to compare tire sizes and the possible effects of tire size changes.
My Civic came with 14's, then I changed to 17's, and now I'm running 15's. The main difference that I experienced was a much rougher ride when I had 17's.

Thanks for the info. 1010tires advised staying within 3% of the original diameter to avoid brake failure. My difference will be around 6.08%. Speedometer Difference will be 6.460% too slow.
I'll probably make the swap anyway.

You can go from a 14" wheel to a 17" and still have the same outer diameter... just because you go up a rim size, doesn't mean that you are going to have a taller tire. I highly doubt that you will notice any difference going from a 14" to a 15" especially the supposed "brake failure"
