brake change= severe smoking/smell HOT

Yeah So my brake pads were TOAST.... So I went and got new ones. I installed them and everything was okay.

Things that arnt right:

The little screw the holes the caliper how it goes in and out (hard to explain one of them is frozen and wont move (the bottom one) and the top one works fine... Also when i push in the brake I feel force but if i remembered correctly the last time I did it it was like I could barely touch it and it will stop.

Should I flush out the brake line? or because of that pisting thing that holds the caliper on is that why its smoking? I just don't want to start a fire from this....

But before I switch the brakes everything worked fine.

Well my first thought was you got something on the pad/rotor like antiseize or break quiet. But if they are red hot, then thats def not the case. did you push the pistons all the way back inside the calipers?

Re: brake change= severe smoking/smell HOT

my bet is you dont know how to install brakes. dont mess with something so important if you cant do it right. if they were fine before you worked on it, then its something you did wrong.

Re: brake change= severe smoking/smell HOT

my bet is u didnt lube the slides... its the most common problem with brakeinstalls, it causes the caliper to stick, causing too much friction on teh rotor, making it heat up and glow
