17" or 18" for 04 civic ~dropped~

I don't know what i should go for 17s or 18s. I kinda want the 18s cus of the looks and everything but then i heard from store ppl that 18s will be a rough ride, and going over rail roads is gonna be sh*tty, and might warp, but it just looks better than 17s....
17s have better performance i heard.

any suggestions guys??

I have 17" Maxxim Guilt's and it's not a bad ride. I'm sitting on stock suspension which i need to change but can't afford it yet. I don't have to worry about every hole and bump in the road and here it CT the roads r horrible. My buddy has 18's on his eclipse and the ride is so much stiffer then my 17's u can feel every little bump but it looks real good. so I guess if ur careful 18s isn't a bad choice.

I had 17's with a 205/45/17 tire and a 2 inch drop all around for about 4 years. It wasnt to bad of ride, other than feeling every bump in the road. I personally think 18's with a drop will be WAY to big and harsh of a ride. I actually just ordered 16in. wheels with a 205/50/16 inch tire this week and i should have them here by Friday. So from personal experience I would go with the 17's if you must.

i have 17s with 215/40 tires...still on stock suspension but cant say there is any differnce in the ride with my new wheels compared to the stock wheels. I really havent noticed any differnce at all. too bad once i drop it it will feel like i got no shock absorption at all =[ lol....but i heard there are some springs maybe only for hondas/acuras, and the ride is very good. Any idea what they are called...my friend told me but i didnt catch the name heh..
