I think mostly with the Brazilian engines they have way less emissions requirements.
Overall compression is the same so you likely could just toss your head and sensors on it and have more fun.

Thanks! Im just trying to find out if its the same internally as it appears to be visually on the outside i checked my block they both look exactly the same. I just cannot find any information at all on the d17z4

Since you would have to pull the block out, might as well check to see how much machine shop would charge to flatten it out.
Pretty much any junkyard engine would clean up just like that eBay listing.

Checked on machine shop there gona charge me 1600 to rebuild the bottom end. And the engine im looking at which is Brazilian is the D17Z4. Ive found these differences and i have posted in another thread in hopes to someone who may have the information im neeeding. Check these pictures look at the piston differences. In my block (D17A2) and the other on Ebay (D17Z4) im trying to find out if my d17a2 head with work with the D17Z4 bottom end
