Rear Visor Help! Coupe

So i bought a Rear visor for the sedan but I have a coupe and I test fitted it today and its a little too big on the sides. I know people have trimmed it on the sides to make it fit on the coupe. My question is what do i use to cut it with? How much do I cut off from both sides? I just dont want to mess it up. Thanks

I guess the obvious question is why did you buy a part for different car than you have...and I guess also that it's a bit of a moot point to tell you that you should return it for the correct one.

I suspect that no matter what you do the part is going to end up looking hacked up in the end. However if you have your heart set on modifying this thing you have to determine what kind of material it's made out of in order to get the correct cutting tool. If it's fiberglass you may be in luck because working with fiberglass is fairly easy but it will not be a quick and clean job...there will be lots of sanding and priming and sanding and sanding to get it right. If it's a plastic piece you will have the same problem but will have to work with compatible body work materials.

Send it back for the correct one or sell what you have on EBay and buy the right one.

ahhhh....sorry, just realized I'm responding to an old post....
