RSX seats... go or no?
RSX seats... go or no?
I put this here because I couldn't think of a better place. Move if you think it should be.
So, anyway, a pair of tan leather RSX seats came up for sale locally for $270 (I think I could get em for $250 though) They include rails and buckles (not that I would need the buckles.) and they look like they're in pretty damn good shape. This seemed like a pretty good deal to me, but I was just wondering what the going price for RSX seats are these days?
I also had a couple quick questions. (yes I have searched the install thread and such, but had other questions)
First, Gearbox has mentioned the extra weight of the air bags and I was wondering if there was any good way to remove the airbags (and the weight) without leaving an unsightly hole in the side of the seat.
Also, does anybody have any pics of tan RSX seats in a tan interior. Almost all of the pics I've seen have been black on black and I want to see what they will look like in my car.
Thanks in advance!

Re: RSX seats... go or no?
$350 is more of an average selling price for RSX seats, so I'd say that's a decent deal. If the airbags and buckles are getting included that's an even better deal, because you can sell those on ebay for quite a bit.
Re: RSX seats... go or no?
man that would be sick if I could sell them and pay for like half the cost of the seats. I just hope it would be a quick sale haha. That would leave a hole taking them out though right? I was thinking about just getting some plastic from Home Depot or something to cover it up... think that would work?

Re: RSX seats... go or no?
It should, but it prob wouldn't look great.
I'm not sure if that little panel and the air bag itself can be separated, if it can things would be way easier.

Re: RSX seats... go or no?
Yeah that would be a lot easier. I have the feeling they can't though. All the ones I saw on ebay had the plastic bit. At this point I'd rather have something that didn't look perfect if it meant saving $100+ though
Maybe I could even pick up some blown ones and put the cover back together... We'll see, I'm trying to figure out if I have enough money to go for it... yay for just having paid tuition...
thanks for the input though!

Re: RSX seats... go or no?
its not just the airbag that adds weight. the leather seats are way heavier than cloth, almost 60 lbs. i dont think you could even lift one by yourself.
Re: RSX seats... go or no?
Damn that's still heavy. Although it's not like my car is a finely tuned race car that desperately depends on weight haha.
I might just do it though. I was talking to the guy and he was willing to separate the airbags and bring the price down to $150 for the pair. He said one had some ripping so we'll see how bad it is, but for that price I figure I can't really go wrong.

Re: RSX seats... go or no?
yeah i mean the car weighs 2500 lbs so i dont think you would notice that much difference with the seats. im just picky when it comes to adding extra weight.
Re: RSX seats... go or no?
Yeah I don't blame ya. I'm sure that helps keep the gas mileage up too. And I'm kinda surprised how much I notice extra weight as it is. When I have a couple people in the car I lose any umph I had to begin with.
