Stupid Interior Lights
Re: Stupid Interior Lights
Never had to replace one, and I've had the vehicle 4 years. It's either cheap bulbs or the voltage is fluctuating or the voltage is too high. The bulbs are designed to take some higher voltage but, not a whole lot. Take the bulb out and measure voltage from the positive lead to body ground. Post back with results.

What brand bulbs ?? Try Sylvania or other name brand & certainly avoid GE bulbs from walbobs. I always try to wipe mine with isopropyl and then not touch the glass when installing (kind of **** for a small bulb maybe)

Re: Stupid Interior Lights
try a 194 bulb instead of 168 for the front, its rated for 2500 hrs of use. and a 5w ferstoon for the rear instead of 8w. i have leds in mine so i havent noticed any burning out problems. i can see why the filament bulbs would burn out being in such an enclosed area. if you leave them on for more than 30 secs, you will start reducing life fast. and yes wiping them clean is a great idea even for mini bulbs. they still run at 165F or greater and oils on the bulb can cause hotspots.
