Out with the EM2 in with the 04 Si hatch?

Well...this sucks. I'm about to pay off my 03 civic coupe that I love. I went to the dealership today and they have an 04 Si on the lot. I already started talking to them about trading the coupe in towards this little hatch but I'm not so sure I want to do it.

I need some input on this...from anyone who knows about the Si of that generation especially. My EX has been very reliable and I need it to be for work. It has about 150k miles on it because I drive all day every day (again, for work).

The Si is not in as great condition as the coupe was when I bought it. The owner didn't keep it waxed and some of the paint is oxidized. This leads me to believe that the engine might not have been as well maintained either.

I love my EM2, but we all know it has shortcomings when it comes to performance and modding. I just think that if I put all of the money I've put into this coupe into that Si hatch, I'd be seeing a lot more payoff. Anyone want to give me some feedback? Let me know if there's common problems with the 04-05 si that I should look for, too! Thanks all!

I would be weary of it as well (due to the lack of exterior maintenance). I can't imagine the rest of the car was well looked after either. I also don't think that that engine responds much better to mods than the D17 does. If I were you I wouldn't do it. If you really want an Si, look for a better one, not just a conveniently located one.
