Bumper repair??

I have a fiberglass front bumper on my car and I want to repair the pressure cracks in it and get it repainted. I know I need to sand down the cracks and reinforce behind them to stop the flexing, but do I use Gel coat over the area of repair after it has been sanded down to the fiberglass or just bondo over the sanded spot? Any tips will help Thanks

Re: Bumper repair??

gelcoat isnt needed, use a good filler (EVERCOAT/RAGE) then finish it with a glave putty(evercoat metal glaze, sand, prime, paint.

Re: Bumper repair??

Depends how bad it is. The cracks I wanna fix (and the few I did fix already) needed fiberglass strands and the epoxy/hardener to reenforce from the inside. That'll probably take a full day with lots of patience.
