Do you still like your Civic?
I'm kinda having doubts. I was driving over 85 mph of the freeway, but I have trouble keeping up with the curves. I don't like the suspension, will have to change that.
It's roomy and all, headroom that is. My hair doesn't touch, therefore my head doesn't itch. haha!
As far as the susp goes, my 95 feels better.

I still like my car and when I get the opportunity in July, I'll be trading it in for an SI or a Prelude. This is the first Honda I've ever owned and now it's time to experiment and explore the world of "Going Fast"!!!!!
Okay so I was transporting a few friends to a new years eve party 1.5 horus away from where we all live. In my back seat was a guy who owns an Accord... I saw him perk up in the backseat thru my rearview and I was wondering what he was looking at... hes like "whoa this thing handles 140 really well!"... I didn't even realize i was going that fast... and btw - 140 kph is 87mph, and it was an 80km/h (50mph) speed zone!
enough about how well my car handles at high speeds... I love my civic - all except for the interior rattles... but seriously... it looks just plain awesome, has more than enough power and speed for me...... its a great car.
It's a love hate thing, but mostly love. could use a better suspension, better brakes, more power, and some more noise insulation (to stop the rattles). But all this can be added. It's not terribly slow, and it handles more than alright. but as i said, it could be better.
I like my Civic better every day. We knew the redesign was going to be a softer suspension and more of an "older person's car". If I want to go fast and rice hard, I've got a car that's made for that too.

What else do you have?
i used to hate my civic...but now im enjoyin it more. the suspension do suck, i get alot of body roll ,but now
since i change the tire pressure 35front 31rear, sum how the body rolls is not that bad anymore! Now i have
confidence to take 40+mph on a corner

Have owned my Civic for almost 13 months now and have driven over 32,000 miles in it. But will probably trade it soon - too many little things , rattles , gas gauge, clutch creaking , road noise , paint chipping off hood - all starting to get old. Not the quality I had hoped for.
Drove an Accord yesterday - may get one or some other car with a V6.

My civic is the fastest car i've ever driven, aside from an Eclipse and a turbocharged RX-7, but i didn't drive them daily nor race them so I wouldn't know their full potential. But everytime i drive my civic, i atleast think im going fast so I don't really care about more power. I still like my civic.
also, if i ever have any problems with the civic, i can always feel assured that I can atleast modify it.

Do I still like my Civic? Hell NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
I finally got frustrated with the car and traded it in. Yes I traded in my Honda. Honda has deffinitely lost their edge for reliability and performance. I will never purchase another Honda again.
Honda's customer support SUCKS. The dealership I bought the car from had no clue as to what was causing the problem. I was terrified of driving the car. If you would go to www.nhtsa.dot.gov you would see a lot of complaints about Honda and the stalling of the Civic.
I suggest you post your problem there. As far as getting any help from Honda, good luck.
The stalling problem could be coming from the IAC, the VTEC, the fuel pump, or the Torque Converter.
Honda has made a major screw up in their redesign of the civic. A major one. You can try to fight Honda and get a new car or your money back. Good luck with that one.
The simple matter is that we all have new cars and for a new car to be giving you this much problems in the beginning stages will only lead to more problems as the car gets older.
So, I decided to trade mine in. I got $13,500 for the trade. I had 17,765 miles on the car. Traded it for a Suzuki SUV 4x4. Yes I traded the piece of SH___T in. I had problems with the steering wheel vaugness, the driver's seat rocking back and forth, the fuel gauge readings, the crunching of the front springs when I made a sharp turn and the right front tire would hit a shallow grove in the road. Oh, and last but not least, the damn stalling.
It was like driving a death trap. Every stop light I was affraid that the car would cut off. Honda needs help with their quality. The Civic I received was purley a piece of SH___T. Went back to the dealers so many time for the same thing. All the dealers care about is their report card. Their customer service evaluation. Can't wait until mine comes in the mail. I'll tell Honda a thing or two about their redesign.
If you are having problems with your Honda, trade the mother__f___ in or get raid of it. Honda needs to know that their cars are crap. Afterall, there were three recalls on the 2k1 civic. What you think about that? A car with more than one recall is going to give you problems down the line.
For those of you who have a good 2k1 civic and it is treating you good, god bless you!
For those of us that have problems, boycott honda and trade the f_k_er in.

I have had about dozen cars and trucks of different brands and models in my life time
For the money, my Civic is the best deal.
I love this car so much that I will drive it for a long time.
I have a 3000 GT parked on my front lawn that I don't drive because is so expensive to mantained and insurance for it is to much.
Modifying my Civic is not only fun but much more affordable than any other car I driven, and I trully appreciate the back sitting capability as well as the trunk space.
I lowered and installed DC suspension accesories for proper handeling, now it turns on a dime!
Minor engine moods and a NOS system gave me enough HP for the city without killing my self or going to jail.
The only thing that I'm disappointed was not having all wheel disc with ABS braking system.
And definately the Honda service deparment suck just about any place you go.
The interior noises and other problems that some 2k1 owners are experiencing is a testament that Japanise manufactures can build a better car and our cars are put together here in the US by union workers that are more concern about how many paying hours can they get in between brakes.
The quality is not there, I have striped my car to metal twice for mayor mood changes and the poor workmanship is quite obious from the weldding spots to the painting of the car.
Still is not as bad as a Chevy.

Yes I still like my civic, but I could like it better.
I have the same gripes as everyone else...could have more power/pick-up... but I understand it's an economy car.
I've noticed the rear bounce. Otherwise it has delivered as expected; no more nor less.

Thanks for all your imputs. I think this thread should now come to a close. Maybe in about 6 months or so, more like 9, (when the 03's are out), I'll post the same question up and see who has changed their minds and other newbie opinions. 'Til next time, have one on me!
