ive noticed a lack of power of the past year, recently found my EVAP canister vac hose was unhooked, i fixed that leak, replaced the dizzy it was screwed, made sure the timing is correct, while i was changing the oil i could see the flywheel because the flywheel cover was bent out a little and i noticed it rusted...
seen online it could rob me of power, and possibly screw my clutch up?
my buddy put a clutch and flywheel on a year ago, so i dont think it needs replaced but what do i know.
anyway of possibly cleaning the rust of it while the car is running *flywheel spinning* or just while its not running, i dont want to screw anything up its my daily for my kids it runs great engine has only 115k and was rebuilt but theres minor things im trying to fix never removed a engine or trans but with the help of you guys i always seem to tackle the issue so thanks!

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Any rust you can see has ZERO detrimental effect. It's bare steel, it's gonna get a little surface rust on it. Pound the cover out flat so it covers the hole better?
The important areas of the flywheel and clutch you cannot see until the trans is removed and clutch is pulled apart.
Close the hood and back away slowly.

Nothing to worry about, though you ought to unbend the shield so the flywheel exposure is reduced?
