Question SEEKING my old car

Back in October of 1991 I was the happy owner of a 92 Honda Civic LX 5-speed in Harvard Blue. I drove it contentedly until about 2000 when with only 63,000 miles the crank shaft broke, requiring a new engine. Instead of replacing the engine, we traded it in. I know - a big mistake. So, I'm trying to find the little dear again - call it nostalgia - whatever - it was my first car. Using the VIN, it can only be traced back to 2005 when it was sold and a new title issued. Anyone here have any ideas on how I could find out if there is any chance this vehicle has not bee put out for parts? https://www.civicforums.com/forums/i...s/confused.gif

Re: SEEKING my old car

That car could be anywhere.

I know. I went through the same feelings with my 1986 BMW 325es. VIN is/was WBAAB 5402G 96733 64. I saw it in Irvington NJ "a couple or few years" after I was pretty much grifted out of it. Young, dumb, stupid. Never again.

Car could be anywhere. Both of them.

Re: SEEKING my old car

Thanks Wild Cranker - you clearly understand. I hope you come across your vehicle again one day. I can't help but be hopeful. Why would the third owner bother to get it re-titled if he/she was just going to sell it for parts? I took REALLY good care of it, and the person (second owner) who bought it was an employee at the dealership (Rosenthal Honda) who put in a new engine. Between those factors 1) low mileage with me and excellent maintenance, and 2) a new engine, I can't imagine it being parted out only five years later. I'm hoping the new title and the fact that nothing has happened in the US since 2005 means that it was exported. I know countries like Brazil import a lot of used cars.....Just hoping RSTYNAL was not turned into parts
