92 Civic sometimes doesn't start!
This has been going on for the last several months. At first I thought the car was vapor locking because it seemed to be not starting when hot outside, no matter if i had driven the car or not that day, but has since done it when it has been cold outside. There are days that it is hot and it will start fine all day long no matter how many stops I make so then I figured well maybe it was the fuel filter because at times I will put gas in it and wont start so figured it was stirring up gunk in filter. I have had many people tell me it sounds like a relay over the filter. I just have no idea what relay. I have also had more than one person tell me is timing belt going bad. The thing is it always starts again, sometimes with cranking it over 20 times sometimes 5 and sometimes I just have to let it sit for several hours and it will start again. Sometimes to get it restarted i have to let it crank over for 30 to 45 sec before it will start other times it will crank over it i just try cranking it repeatedly a couple of times. I am trying to do this the cheapest route possible cuz am jobless at the moment so if any one can tell me with they feel the problem may be I would be great full before it decides to leave me stranded for good!!
Re: 92 Civic sometimes doesn't start!
I have never honestly ever heard it click but I would think that it does cuz when it doesnt start and i pump the gas when I do finally get it started it smells like gas so it is obviously making its way up to the filter at least.
