1995 civic EX Distributor ???

1995 civic EX Distributor ??? I have a 1995 Honda Civic EX 5 speed with the factory engine 1.6 vtec that was in the car when I bought it new.
I need to replace the Distributor.
I went to the parts store with the number on the Distributor td-41u.
I was told that the td-41u Distributor is for the DX and my car should have the td-42u Distributor.
I have looked on line and everything I have found says that the td-41u is not for the EX.
YES, the engine is the 1.6 vtec and the Civic is a EX.
Can someone please tell me why my EX has the td-41u Distributor?
Also what is the difference between the (td-41u Distributor) and the (td-42u Distributor).
