O2 Sensor problem..
im new to this so bare with me
i have a 1994 honda civic coupe, it has a d16y7 motor..
i bought this car, and noticed there are 2 o2 sensors (plugged into the exhaust its self) they are not plugged into anything (im guessing the electrical system)
With that said i need to know how i go about fixing this..
i researched, and everything i found said my car would run like crap and get horrible gas mileage. well i bought this car in florida, drove it to memphis tn, then to kansas city, and now to arkansas.. it gets around 39 mpg and runs great.... just idles like crap.
so what do i do? i took it to a mufler shop, and all the guy said was " if it is running this good i wouldnt mess with it "
i dont know much, but it sounds wrong. sorry about blabbing, just been trying to figure this out and its getting me no where...
thanks

Re: O2 Sensor problem..
well the sensor in the cat is useless, all it does is monitor emissions and tell the ecu when to turn the engine light on. the primary sensor (closest to the engine) is responsible for some of the air/fuel calculations and the warmup idle. it also gives you 2-3 more mpgs and better acceleration. prolly worth fixing but you would need wire diagrams to figure out which sensor wires go to which ecu wires.
Re: O2 Sensor problem..
i appreciate it man, i think i know where it plugs in, right behind the motor im sure.
what do i do about the one coming out of the cat?
any way to delete it completely?
