smashed 93 dx hatchback - please advise
hello forum,
my 1993 civic dx hatchback was hit on the street by a drunk driver, and as it was a hit & run, I'm not getting any insurance money for it....wondering what my best option is for what to do with it.
there is body damage to the rear quarter panel that effectively totals the car, however it's a clean title since insurance won't come out and look at it. the body was in fair condition to begin with due to some other issues--couple dents and a little rust.
BUT it only has 95k original miles, and a lot of life left in the 5spd transmission, interior, a/c ... and it does still run even wrecked.
I don't work on cars myself, so looking for some advice from you folks on how to get some money out of the situation.
should I:
sell it as is? what's a reasonable price?
have someone fix up and then sell it myself?
part it out?
other ideas?
thanks!! hoping to get what I can for this and put it towards a newer hatchback...

Sell it and expect to get $200.
You'll likely loose money on a decent repair, based on your description.
If you don't work on cars, you can't part out a car, pulling parts and pricing them is basically the entire process..
