91 Civic Manual H/B not starting need help identifying something Pics Included
A few weeks ago I was driving home from work and I got stuck in traffic. We were stuck there for approximately 45 minutes and I decided to shut off my car. When I went to refire nothing. I pushed the car out of traffic and got a couple of friends to help me push start her. She fired back up, and I got her home. Tried starting her at home and nothing. I also noticed the Speedo wasn't working on the drive home either could be related could not don't know at this point.
Info on car. 91 Civic H/B 4 speed manual tranny
What I have done so far.
I took a voltage reading at starter and I saw I believe 13V
I swapped out Main Relays with another car
I also swapped batteries with another car
ECU is not giving me any codes
I have checked all fuses in engine compartment and under dash. I cam across one fusible link that was blow the IG one and replaced it. Still same symptoms.
I have visually inspected everywhere and I see no lose connections except for something weird under the dash. I have no idea what this is hanging from underneath:

Any and all help is appreciated, and any thing on what my next actions should be a greatly encouraged. It is a hot one out here today in Virginia so I think I am done staring at her for today. Thanks again.

If its cranking and wont turn over check and see if the fuel pump is priming, you can check this by turning the key to on and listening for a whirring type noise, if there isn't one your pump might be done. Also check the spark plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor.

The only thing it does is click. I don't hear the pump, but if the pump goes would I be able to push start it? Just curious. Thanks for the advice I will definitely give that a try tomorrow.
Re: 91 Civic Manual H/B not starting need help identifying something Pics Included
oh okay if it's clicking that means you're not getting a spark.
Check your spark plugs for a spark, check to see if the spark plug wires are old, check if all the contact points in the distributor cap are clean and check if the rotor is turning.
Also check to make sure the negative and positive contacts on the battery are clean.
If your fuel pump was busted then push starting shouldn't work, if what you're hearing is a clicking, then you have a spark related problem.

Just checked each plug wire by taking spark plug and grounding it to valve cover and the bolt that goes from cover to ground. No spark. Will continue to update with what I find. I found a link on some good troubleshooting tips and I will continue on depending on heat here in Va. I really need a fan for my garage.
Addition: I did hear the fuel pump whirling while I was doing the spark plug test. Had to have the Mrs. help me out on the test lol.

What exactly do you mean by "grounding"? Damn, someone do a vid cuz this procedure sounds like the shietz!
Re: 91 Civic Manual H/B not starting need help identifying something Pics Included
I pulled a Spark Plug and a Plug Wire from a cylinder bank. With that plug and wire I grounded the plug by sticking it to the nut that goes from the valve cover to the chassis. Told the Mrs. to crank it and saw no spark on the actual plug. I took the same plug and repeated for the other 3 plug wires. The only thing is make sure you don't touch that spark it could really hurt you.
As for an update I found Battery voltage at the terminals on the Igniter. The online troubleshooting that I have followed says if there is voltage their and and no go to replace that module. Now I just have to convince myself to go to advanced and drop 70 dollars on my expertise. I may sleep on that Idea.
Re: 91 Civic Manual H/B not starting need help identifying something Pics Included
Took off Igniter and reading 1.5 ohms across terminals and 12.2k from inside to both other terminals. Which is off from what it should be, and with it blowing that IG Fusible link I may have the culprit. I am going to swap it out with a known good one tomorrow I think.
Re: 91 Civic Manual H/B not starting need help identifying something Pics Included
Got her fired just a few minutes ago. Changed ICM with know good and no dice. I then went back to my gut on the Clutch Switch. Turns out the 50A blown Fusible link and the Switch is what I am going with. Reason being I tried depressing the switch first, and no dice. Found the busted fusible link and didn't try depressing the switch again like a moron. So I will take this as a life lesson in how to troubleshoot starting issues.
