Post 1994 Civic Overheated and now its hard to start.

My civic overheated on me due to a blown radiator hose...by the time I noticed it...I was in the red..SO I pulled over and let it cool off....now its a B!tch to start in the mornings...the Motor cranks for 30 seconds before the motor fires.and when it does turn on....it bogs if i give it gas...Now once its warmed up...it runs like a champ....and I dont have a problem starting the car? did my timing belt jump a tooth? or is it the head gasket? no smoke out the tail pipe and no loss of fluids.. Thanks for your input

Sounds like a lose of compression. I'm not sure from what, but my guess would be damaged valves if its not from headgasket.

When my 99 civic overheated, cuz my autorepair shop clipped my radiator hose while putting my transmission back together, both the head and the block warpped, which blew my headgasket. I had only driven 1 mile before I saw smoke from my engine. Cost me 400 for a working used long block engine plus 900 for total labor work+full gasket/seal replacement.
