Check engine light and code list
Check engine light and code list
Just got a '92 civic. After driving a couple miles the CEL comes on and stays on until you turn the car off. When you turn it back on and drive a couple miles the light comes back on.
Anyway can anyone tell me where the CEL connector is and also a list of codes. I assume you just connect and a light or voltmeter to the port and count the pulses, at least that's how it works on another vehicle I have of a similar year.

Re: Check engine light and code list
CEL connector is under the dash on the passenger side - mine tucked up in groove under the rt side of glove box about an inch from the kick panel. Two pin plug jumpered with a paper clip with the car off, then read the code as the CEL blinks long or short pulses as you said. There is a list of common codes in the FAQ sticky on the top of the gen 1-5 forum.
