Piston rings and a ton of smoke...
Hey guys,
This is my first post ever on this site so let me begin with "Hello everybody".
Heres the problem car:
92 Civic CX w/D15B7 5-speed M/T
I have severe smoking and the car barely moves anymore, I have narrowed it to the piston rings (duh lol). Anyway, I do not have an endless amount of money to spend and I'm having one hell of a time trying to find a (good) cheap replacement. So heres the question, I have heard that any D series motor will bolt up to the 5 speed tranny that I have, even the newer ones from 2000 is that true?, that and, Would the motor mounts in the CX need to be modified to hold a newer engine? Thats just a general question, out of curiosity.
My main question is:
Does anyone have a cheap D15B7 that runs perfectly that they are willing to let go for cheap? I already looked for a D15B from Japan but thats 500 on top of shipping and well...I simply do not have that much.
Thanks for any help.

I had a friend who had a Suzuki Samurai that did the same thing, he drained he oil and put hydraulic oil in instead. I'll be damned if he didn't squeak another 6 months out of that thing. As for your question, call some local junkyards. I'm sure you can find a good motor somewhere close for a couple bennies.
