Rep Power: 0 Civic wagon just died, cranks, but won't start?
Hey guys, I have a 91 Civic Station Wagon (wagovan).
FWD, 1.5 liter.
Last night, I took a right turn, and the car just shut off.
I tried starting it but it just turned and turned and turned. Didn't even catch much at all.
I opened the hood and tried jumping it, push starting it, no good.
I opened the distributor up, and it looked torched like this.
So I replaced everything there. Rotor, cap, etc.
Still doesn't start.
I took a wire out, and I noticed that there was no spark (old screwdriver trick).
So, what would keep it from sparking?
I currently also post on the civic wagon forums, as it's a little more specific to my model of car. I found lots of posts with "no starting" problem, and they all relate to the main relay.
Would the main relay keep it from sparking? IF it were bad?

Try replacing the spark plug wires, Check the battery too..make sure it got enough battery water and is charged. While you're at it check the continuity of the main relay.
P.S: Did you throw that in the oven or something..it looks baked.

Replace the "igniter" located in the distributor, it used to be a extended warranty item, had a high failure rate. There is also a relay that can cause this, but have forgotten which one....article below may help.....good luck
