I just recently purchased a 1985 Honda Civic HB with a 1.3l engine. The car has 105,000 original miles. Yesterday the engine started overheating. I changed the thermostat and flushed the radiator. I'm still overheating. Any suggestions?

This is my first Honda.

waterpump. and while you are pulling it, get a new timing belt and adjustment pulley.

well my gf and i had the same problem as badpenny knows and it was a very simple fix and i am beginning to think this is a regular thing with this engine.When you replaced the thermostat and filled it up again it is showing in the rad that it is full but this engine air locks because of the config of the neck of the rad..what we did was remove the hose from the heater core that goes back to the block and back fill the block .Hold the hose up high and fill till the antifreeze come out the heater core from the tube of the hose you just took off when it come outs the heater core then put your hose back on and try running it now

i wanted to add that we replaced our waterpump and it was still overheating and this is what we determined after that. So for the sake of alot of work i would try fill the block this way .
