what would make my crx idle vary from 1200rpm to 2000 rpm? i sounds like i am just tapping the gas and letting off. but there are times that it idles just fine. ive tried vac lines but it still does it.

the throttle body... i think.. my car occasionally has that problem... i read somewhere it has to do with the throttle body on our older cars... i'll comeback later... but let me check...

ok next time it does it pop ur hood and look at the intake manifold ull see a little round thing on the left side on the back, it looks like a roll of quarters it has 2 collent lines running in and out of the bottom of it.... and 1 plug on the left end, tap on it with a screw driver kinda hard.... it should fix it.... tear it off and clean it with break cleaner, use about 2 cans and then let it dry out for a few hours.... or just get a new 1.... i belive its called a cold idel control senser.... but im not sure of the name.... good luck
