Noob question I know.

I'm originally a jeep guy. Custom fabrication and offroading. Recently I bought a 99 civic 4 door ex. I'm looking in to doing some aftermarket build up on this thing and wondering what I have. From what i've been reading I "might" have a D16Y8 motor that is Vtec. I know jack **** about these cars although I know the vtec is somewhat sought after. Is this correct? How do I verify what I have? Sorry I know "SEARCH N00B"! but i've done searching and didn't get a straight forward answer as it says the vtec doesn't have a logo on the valve cover, how else do i verify that it's Vtec? and i also read that there's a vtec solenoid, but unsure where to look. does anyone have any pics i can look at to verify what i have?

Thanks. If anyone is interested in my other stuff, this is what I've been building for the last few years.

Your engine code is stamped on a flat pad on the block here:

Then look up what car it could have come from here
