Weird heating issues
Weird heating issues
Hi everyone,
Winter is around the corner where I live. I have a 99 civic EX D16Y8 made in the US. The problem I am having is that I have no heating.
My top radiator hose is hot but the lower one is cold. The funny thing is that the 2 hoses that go into the firewall are both hot . I dont get what might be the issue. The car is not overheating and its working at its normal operating temperature.
What I do see is that the temperature **** is a bit hard to move and when set on hot I can hear like water flowing (i dont know if that noise is normal on this car). Last but not least I see that my car needs to be topped with water from time to time, the overflow tank seems to get emptied.
Thanks!

Re: Weird heating issues
It sounds like the heater core may be clogged. Try a coolat flush and see if that improves your situation.
