Hit and run :(
After working 40+ a week for the past 6-7 months, saving up to be able to get into my first track day at lime rock this month, with days from installing all the parts and getting the last of them today, my car was totaled in a hit and run accident last night. I'm pretty devastated, and because it happened on private property (the parking lot outside of my job) I can't file a police report. Nothing from the security cameras or witnesses from local businesses.
So it looks like im going to be looking for another car. It's still drivable, and I already have a friend interested for $2000 (It sold in less than 2 hours, guy wanted a fuel efficient car esp with 87 being almost 4$ a gallon here).
I am also looking at the roughly $3500 of suspension mods, along with wheels and tires in my basement. I am undecided if I want to get another civic of the same generation and swap the parts over, or if I should try and back track, sell everything and get something else. This next car probably won't be a tuner, just something comfortable and sporty. I already looked at a is300 for sale that was going for $7500 (about the most I can spend at this point).
Any input would be appreciated, but in the meantime I've put all my parts up for sale on H-T, if you (or someone else) is looking for hardrace bushings, energy suspension bushings, AMR engineering coilovers, function7 rear brace, DB8 seats and other goodies, please check it out here:

Here's a picture of the damage:

3 different body shops quoted me over $2000 to fix, which is way more than I want to spend to fix it, and I have no means to fix it myself.

Re: Hit and run :(
Well if I start over and get as much money back as possible I can buy a car that will put me ahead of where I was before. Like an rsx I'd be starting with a K and wouldn't have to really touch the motor except for bolt ons. I'm actually looking at an early 2000's 3 series, which have leather seats, all the bells and whistles, 5spd rwd and 235hp. At that point all I gotta do to the damn thing is brake pads and tires.
