Look elsewhere. Why do you want something with a rebuilt engine?

Why wouldn't you? Just means it had seals, gaskets, rings and such replaced...nothing major. If it was done by a good shop it's practically a brand new engine.

$3400 for a fresh built Si with 130k miles is actually a pretty sweet deal. I would at least ask about the rebuild. Ask why it happened, who did it and what was replaced. If its a clean title and the engine rebuild checks out then I'd definitely look into it. Oh, and check for frame damage too. That's the only other reason why it'd be going for that low that I can currently think of.

Just seems like your asking for problems. I could be wrong. But like you said, the gamble is if the shop was good or not. Personally I wouldnt do it. But thats just me.

Re: Might get this car for my 1st one!

^^ All it would take to find out is a simple test drive. Odds are low that the shop screwed it up, older Honda's are a piece of cake to rebuild. I'm just saying I wouldn't just skip over it just because it says it had the engine rebuilt. It's kinda like saying "salvage title"
It could mean something horribly wrong or great, you don't know unless you inquire about it.

Nice man, post up more pics and keep us posted on how she runs!

And driving standard on a civic is a piece of cake. You'll be double-clutchin' and heel-toeing in no time.
