Rep Power: 0 muffler/exhaust problem...I think. '00 civic si
The car is a 2000 honda civic si. Three owners all together, but very well maintained. I think I ****ed up my muffler/exhaust.
It's winter and I might have reversed into a snowbank today, ****ing up the exhaust or muffler..or w/e the **** they call it. Now I'm down $100, because im an idiot and can't drive in the winter properly.
I love my car, I treat it like a queen. Filling up the necessary liquids (break fluid, anti-coolant, oil changes with filter, power-steering fluid).
I even spend a nice 2-3 hours waxing, polishing, vacuuming and everything.
THEN I **** IT ALL UP BY REVERSING INTO A SNOWBANK...
the problem is, It makes loud sounds everytime I step on the gas pedal. When I get my feet off the pedal, the sound goes away. Even when the bitch idle's it makes the sound, when it's on park, the sound disappears. WTF MAN
Everything on the car is stock, If it is a muffler/exhaust problem.. I'll get an after-market one because I plan on tuning it up over the years.
plz help fellow ricers.
I guess I'm not completely screwed.

Being that I don't live anywhere near snow, I assume by your excessive, unneeded, perverse, asterisks (***) that snow is pretty hard. With that said, you probably cracked your exhaust.
Here's how you check it...
get a spray bottle, fill with water, add dish soap (water first), then start your car...lay under the back and spray the liquidy soap all over your pipe from front to back, look for bubbles/and cracks....
If it is cracked and it's not to bad, you can get the repair putty from a local auto store like advanced, or auto zone...
That's my best guess...

Sounds like an exhaustive problem. Don't worry. I backed into a concrete athebarrier helping some woman with her car. Haha. It happens. No need to get too bent out of shape. How cold is it in Canadaland? If it's cold enough and there is a crack, you can see smoke coming from other areas besides the muffler. The aforementioned troubleshooting is another way to go if the weather isn't too bad. Just make sure you get a decent exhaust that isn't obnoxious and won't rust out easily. Being in NY I see it all the time.

the sound seems to be coming from the front, I see no problems with the exhaust or muffler.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

you dumb ****s, I see the smoke coming from where the bolts where.
THATS HOW I CAN SEE THE PROBLEM...THE SMOKE!
but thats far from the point. I got the problem fixed, WHOSE YO DADDY???
The bolts that attach to the fat cylinder tubey thing was rusted and it kept falling down (the exhaust to the cylinder block or w/e it is man).
What my mechanic did was put new bolts in and used a torch and some gaskets and some other stuff that cost me $60
PROBLEM FIXATION!
