I do beleive in order to do the swap there is some work to be done, Just the bumper will not fit, you would have to change the whole front end.. here is a DIY i found on it...

It would be pricy to do the swap, but i guess if not a lot of people do it than its a way to stand out but in my opinion not worth the time..
Re: 99 si bumper on 98
I have the swap on my 98 ex and I love it aside from the front bumper not lining up(previous owner did swap) I wouldn't think the parts would be too expensive if u find a junk civic with a good front end. It does make people look harder when they ask what year and they know what their looking at. Lol
Re: 99 si bumper on 98
i actually am doing this right now but i think im cheating lol...i took my oem 98 bumper cover, cut it to keep the grill, headlight contours and wheel-well screw positions (by cutting just above the holes for the front license plate) then i did the same with the 99 si bumper and fiberglassed the 2 sections together finishing it of with a plastic epoxy and finishing putty. now im sanding and will prime and paint in the next few days. Hoping it coms out ok. Ill try and post some pics of it if anyone is interested.

Yeah, you can do it. I want to do the same thing to my '98 LX. I looked around at different places, and most places I looked would've costed 3 or 4 times as much than this.
I added a link at the bottom to a page with all the parts needed. Now I didnt add headlights cause they priced them pretty high forthe OE style, but you can easily get an aftermarket set for relatively cheap. So it's possible, it just depends on how much you're willing to spend.

Re: 99 si bumper on 98
K so here are some pictures of how its turning out. Dropped on some black primer cuz i find it easy to spot smaller pinholes and rough spots. Remeber, this is a Frankenstein bumper lol. Top half is 98 OEM and bottom half is a 99 SI. Joined with fiberglass and plastic putty. So it retains all the clip poitions, screw positions in wheel-well, lines up with hood and headlights and the lower half has the sleek grill opening and the fog light openings.
So it CAN be done cheap but takes alot of work. Hope you guys like it.

PS. the hood grill is homemade. took apart the OEM grill and used only the esthetic contour and had to make custom mounts on the frame under the hood but it works great and looks pretty cool.
And coments/criticism is appreciated.
thx
