Hi Everyone.
I own a stock 6th gen civic LX 1998, now i get about just 18 mpg in city, i have to fix a little leak in the exhaust so i think that's the problem mainly because of the primary O2 sensor, after that i'm planning to reset the ECU and use only 87 octane fuel so it will develop a nice idle timings i hope.... how much mpg must i expect after that ??? anyone who has a stock civic 6th: how much mpg yours does in city ??

I get in the high 20s in the city. I can easily manage 30 if I don't get on it too much. MPG is dependent on driving style so YMMV. Have you given your car a tune up?(Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, air filter). Those things will give you a little bump if you haven't changed them out yet.

Mine gets 31 avg, and that is about 1/3 "city" and 2/3 city freeway.

Last tank I got 30 mpg with an easy foot on the gas pedal. I travel 35 miles each way to work, and about 25 of those miles are old country roads (55-60 mph), the rest city miles. It's been about 90 degrees here, so I'm running A/C most of the time going to and from work.

I get 37 - 42 mpg. I calculated it religiously for the first few months but it's always the same. 99% highway 1% city. I generally only gear up/down and brake once on my 20 km drive to work. (I've driven the route probably 5000 times in the last 10 years))

I have a 97 lx 4door that I just put a new vtec transmission from a 97 si and clutch in. also has a bunch of other new or newish parts. i got 31 mpg when i checked last night, mostly just driving around town, can't complain. especially with 227,000miles.
