Helppppp!!!!
Helppppp!!!!
I have a civic with a d16y8 no vtec, and the oil pan just recently got a crack so I used jb weld on it.
That worked fantastic.
I refilled the oil.
Now it boggles all the way through when accelerating.
You can really feel it through 1000 -2000 rpm.
And also I have a really low idle.
I've been trying to diagnose it all day.
My ideas.
too much oil.
distributor cap.
02 sensor.
I already checked all the spark plugs and fuel injectors and they are working fine. I'm stuck.

Re: Helppppp!!!!
Clean your throttle body and sensors. I don't think these two issues are related unless you let it run low on oil and damaged something internally. Zeferint JB weld isn't an actualy melting weld, it's just a product you apply to a crack that seals it up. Pretty good stuff actually
Re: Helppppp!!!!
Yeah that jb weld is a life saver.
Turns out the car is going into limp/safe mode because the crankshaft position sensor isn't working correctly.
Hopefully its just a wire. I'll be back in a bit to update.
