I was thinking of getting one of these gadgets to potentially increase my MPG and other things. Anyways, I heard mixed opinions about its accuracy to report real time MPG an horsepower. Some people say that it only estimates mpg using the MAP and MAF sensors, which makes it inaccurate.
Does my civic even have those sensors (98 ex d16y8)?
Im sure it will work, i just haven't heard of it being used on a 6th gen civic.

well, its useful depending on the person. it works in any ODBII car (1996+) by plugging into the port. the info it gives really isnt necessary if you already know how to get good mileage. if you dont, it can be a valuable tool to teach you. but after youve used it for a while, you will realize its not needed anymore. your civic has pretty much all the sensors it reads, i think you have a maf.

Got ya. I tend to be a little **** about how my car runs. Also needed the ability to pull CEL codes in the future and clear the Check Engine Light and SG2 can do that. Do you think its worth the $160?
Thanks

not really. not for me. i got a $40 ebay code reader that displays and erases codes and threw it under the seat. prolly used that thing at least a few times when the engine light came on so its more than paid for itself. not to mention, you have to find a place for the scangauge somewhere on the dash.
