02 sensors and cats on 97 dx

i have a 97 dx im doin a motor swap in soon, but my header is cracked and i cant find one that fits the before sensor and cat. is there anyway to get rid of the cat nd the before and after sensor and still have it pass inspection? or is there a way to bypass these? i would like to do a custom complete exhaust but have the first cat and sensors holding me back. Any advice would help.

To pass inspection fill the crack with jbweld that is a temp fix at best though, there is no way to remove the primary 02 sensor there is a way to bypass the secondary with an 02 sim or you can use 2 18mm spark plug nonfoulers to trick the 02 sensor into seeing the difference it is looking for. This trick is used by a lot of ppl who run no cats as it triggers a cel wihtout the cat in the system.

Unless the tester excepts bribes, it's difficult to pass an inspection without a cat in place. Although it is possible to bypass the 02 sensor and trick the ECU into thinking everything is correct, some areas do visual inspections to ensure the cat is in place.

the bypass can be 1 of 2 methods, there is a plug and play o2 sim but its costly, the much cheaper method is to get 2 spark plug nonfoulers make sure they are the 18mm ones. Next you drill out the middle of the first with a 1/2" drill bit and then screw that into the 2nd nonfouler, then you insert the 02 sensor (the post cat one) into the first nonfouler and screw the whole lot into the manifold. Presto no more check engine light. Do a search for it on this site there are pics and a how to. A lot of ppl who get rid of the cat and run just a header and catback system use this trick. see this link for the info https://www.civicforums.com/forums/2...on-w-pics.html
