Not sure if VTec is fully kicking in..

I have a 2000 Civic si b16 and when I hit VTec you can hear the engine get a lot louder, however I dont feel the car gain. My check engine light is on and Im told there are 2 codes, one for speed sensor a and the other for the IACv. I know the my VTEC is engaging it just seems like im not getting all i should out of it..

Any Ideas?

It really isn't a big kick in the pants gain, but you can tell the difference. I drove an 08 Si and it was the same. Although in my car, I do get pushed back in my seat. I don't notice it as much now because I've had my car for 2 years. You should check those codes either way though.

Fix the codes and then worry about it.

The IACv I'd hit up first
