Catback Exhaust 00 civic SE
I am going to buy a ebay catback exhaust for my girlfriends 00 civic SE(special edition..canadian model?)
D16y7 with Megan racing headers,Spectre cold air intake.
I know most of you probably would suggest against the whole buying ebay stuff, but honestly I do not have 500$+ for a complete catback apexi exhaust or some other brand name system. And for 150$ or less shipped, not to mention the decent amount of positive reviews, I think an ebay exhaust will do just fine for my girlfriends daily driver. Especially since its a d16y7 no vtec
Can you say Mini me!? haha
Almost every single exhaust system I find says will not fit canadian models, yet not one listing says anything in regards to the SE model, which is the canadian model...
not sure if I am aloud to post this link or not but here goes
this is one of the systems I have narrowed it down to, notice the will not fit canadian models:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/92-00...item27b802122c
does anyone know where I could find a catback that would fit my SE civic.
My basic point to this project is to replace her restrictive stock exhaust with a bolt on system, that will bolt up to the headers I have now, for under 200$.
any and all feedback will be appreciated

Re: Catback Exhaust 00 civic SE
I wouldn't expect an increase in performance with the exhaust, but it should make it sound better.
I don't have a problem with ebay special exhausts, I'm thinking about getting one myself, because it is essentially just metal tubing. The common issues with them are welds cracking and rust issues, so make sure to give them a good coat of rust resistant paint before you install them.

Re: Catback Exhaust 00 civic SE
it will work all civics are the same other then canadian si and SiR as the cat is under the car were as the dx, cx, se, etc have the cat built into the exhaust manifold. so if its a D16y7 the cat should be in the exhaust manifold now your saying you have a header on it so either you relocated the cat under the car or you dont have a cat installed which i would recomend doing as if MTO pulls you over they will *** RAPE you and they can even pull the car off the road. also i own two civics one of which is a 4 door se, se is not special edition there is an actual model trim level called special edition and its badged with fancy writing, what yours and mine se stands for is standard edition, as it comes with standard features such as keyless, power steering, AC and passanger air bag
