Help a first time civic owner

So I traded my truck for a 98 civic. The truck was in great shape just had a LOT of miles on it and this kid wanted to trade so i did.

Car outside wise needs work. Front bumper broken and the rear bumper needs work but thats another story.

Ok he had those fake ricer side mirros on it. Well I bought both OEM ones from a forum member on here and I just installed the passenger side and I noticed a sizable gap between the mirror and the door on the outside. Now I am wondering if thats suppose to be there and he just cut the weather stripping piece to fit in the ricer ones or if the mirrors I bought are the wrong ones.

Just wondering if someone could take a picture of their side mirros so i could see the gaps and fitment when the door is closed.

If it matters mine is a 1998 civic ex coupe. Thanks

I can snap one tomorrow, but my mirrors sit flush. I had a JCW one on there and found an OEM replacement. The former didn't sit on there all the way and wasn't painted. Annoyed the hell outta me.

Re: Help a first time civic owner

Does anyone know if the side mirrors are the same on the coupe and the sedan?

Im thinking that might be the problem.

EDIT-just looked on autzon and the 4 door and 2 door have the same model number for side mirrors so that should be the issue

Re: Help a first time civic owner

they are definately different and you will have that gap problem if you get the sedan mirrors for a coupe. you need coupe mirrors.

ebay may be your best bet or check to see if you can trade or sell those to someone who owns a sedan.
