Snow tires are all about budget, I have nokian hakkapeliitta and they're unreal, but cost a lot. Driving on snow feels no different than driving on dry pavement.

+1 . Best decision I've made for my car for winter prep. You won't be disappointed. Just make sure you take em off once it starts getting warm. Like the others have said, they suck in warmer weather. Lol.

Re: what is a good snow tire
For what it's worth I just bought a civic in November and it came with winter tires. 'Arctic Claws' a budget non branded cooper tire sold at places like Canadian Tire. Really they blow me away! I think any set of new winter tires will make a huge difference so buy what you can afford just don't cheap out and get used ones.
I just read an article that was saying winter tires aren't effective once the tread is down to 6/32" which is like 50% tread wear.
This is the article - I don't know if it works with Canadian money. LOL

well, some of them are made to be used year around, so the last half of it's tread is for summer driving. Check with the retailer, so they can inform you which they are. Blizzaks are one of them...
Re: what is a good snow tire
thanks for the advice guys
ima look around for some used wheels
at least 15 inch and no more than 16 inch for winter use
this would probly be good to buy the lifetime alignment
since i be switching from summer to winter
