Door Actuator or Something else?
Door Actuator or Something else?
So my wife's 2000 civic LX is having some door lock issues.
With the factor keyless entry the doors will lock but will not unlock.
While inside the vehicle, using the door lock switch, the all doors except the drivers will lock/unlock.
While using the key in the keyhole outside the vehicle I can lock all doors from the drivers door and unlock the drivers door.
Does this sound like the driver door lock actuator or something else?
Any thought or suggestions?
Thanks.

Re: Door Actuator or Something else?
Sounds exactly like a door actuator, put your ear up to the door when you try to unlock it, you may hear a "cluck cluck" sound that is the actuator trying to unlock the door. If you hear that its almost certainly the actuator. You can try taking it out and then cleaning the junk out of it but I've never found this to work for any car I've worked on - I end up replacing them.
