Maintenance Required Indicator
98 civic ex 4d sedan, got this car a month ago and i did a full tune up and lube. cleaned all solenoids. 
157,000 miles. cold intake and slr chip installed. best mileage i got is 33mpg. everything else stock. car runs good but, then i noticed in the instumental panel the "maintenance required indicator" is red. watz problem? yes i'm new to hondas

its just a mileage timer. has no relation to anything on the car except being annoying. there is a way to reset it but im not familiar with that gen of civic. for normal people, it means get the car to the dealer so they can charge $500 for useless services that dont need to be done.

Read the manual, it'll say in there how to reset it. 
I love when that annoying little light turns on, it gives me something to do while the engine warms up.
