98 civic ex 4d sedan, got this car a month ago and i did a full tune up and lube. cleaned all solenoids. 157,000 miles. cold intake and slr chip installed. best mileage i got is 33mpg. everything else stock. car runs good but, then i noticed in the instumental panel the "maintenance required indicator" is red. watz problem? yes i'm new to hondas

its just a mileage timer. has no relation to anything on the car except being annoying. there is a way to reset it but im not familiar with that gen of civic. for normal people, it means get the car to the dealer so they can charge $500 for useless services that dont need to be done.

Read the manual, it'll say in there how to reset it.
I love when that annoying little light turns on, it gives me something to do while the engine warms up.

all you have to do is push your key into the little slot next to the red indicator and it'll go to green. It turns red every 7500 miles or something stupid like that.
