Some questions.

I just bought my first Civic about 2 weeks ago. Its a 98' HX. It already has a few mods on it. It has a injen cold air intake, an underdrive pully, a MDS ignition, a magnaflow cat back exhaust. I get around 28 mpg in town, I know its supposed to get better but from what I understand having the cold air and the exhaust on it kills the gas mileage, what im wondering is, if I put a header on it will that hurt my gas mileage more, or would it stay the same?

Aslo, I would like to put a new set of spark plug wires on it, I have no clue when or if they have ever been changed. What brand and size would you recommend me getting and from where? The previous owner said the spark plugs were changed earlier this year, but im still thinking about changing those as well. Any suggestions? And to add to it, I have thought about a new distributer, what is ya'lls suggestion about that?

Another thing I have considered is changing the lights to HID's. Do ya'll think this is a worth while venture? And if so, again, where would you guys recommend I go to purchase them?

What is the stock ride height of a 98' HX, and how do I measure it? To me, my car just sits REALLY low. Course, im coming from a Jeep Grand Cherokee, so......

Lastly, (I think ) what sites do ya'll have that are good places to buy parts and upgrades for your civics? What sites do you trust and use frequently?

Thanks.

Re: Some questions.

Cold air intake and exhuast will not hurt the gas mileage that much. What really hurts the gas mileage is a race header especially if you dont have a aftermarket ecu to run it. The msd ignition doesnt do anything except help the car crank and a distributor will not help performace either. Though it might be a good idea to change it cause they like to go bad alot. Spark plugs and plug wires you should go with ngk since honda really recommends that or denso. Good places to find parts are corsport.com and showstoppers.com

Another question I thought about today, was, is it possible to add cruise control to my vehicle? And if so how would I and how hard would it be to do?
